William Keith Berg of Chippewa Falls, WI passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017, at the Chippewa Manor with his loving wife of 64 years at his side.
Bill was born on June 2, 1926 in Eleva, WI to William and Faye (Davis). He graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School and served in the US Marine Corp. on the transport ship USS Pope. He attended the University of Mexico City after serving. Bill married Roberta Jean Englesby on August 29, 1953 in Eleva, WI.
Bill was employed by the State of Wisconsin as a State Patrolman and State Tax Collector before moving to Eau Claire and working at Uniroyal from 1965 until retiring in 1989. Bill and Bobbie spent many a day in the stands watching children and grandchildren participate in sporting events, always encouraging and also giving advice to the officiating crews. Bill enjoyed hunting and working at the Cabin, golfing, traveling, winters in Florida, and spending time with family and friends.
Bill was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and actively involved with the Chippewa Falls Masonic Lodge #176 F&AM and the Shrine Club serving in many capacities including a member of the Animal Unit (Deer) while visiting many parades and festivals. He was also a member of the Eleva American Legion and the Chippewa Falls VFW Post 1038.
Bill was preceded in death by his infant twins, Barbara and Barry and by his parents, William and Faye Berg.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; siblings, Anita Neuheisel of Eau Claire and Marylyn Holte of Chippewa Falls; two sons, William (Julie) of Chippewa Falls and Daniel (Nancy) of South Haven, MN; grandchildren, Tina (Ryan) Parker and their children Madisyn, Easton and Addalyn of Eau Claire, WI, Tyler of Chippewa Falls, WI, Adam (Laura) and their child Everett of Zimmerman, MN and Kelly of South Haven, MN. Bill will be missed by many.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 16 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Barry Boyer officiating. Burial will be in the Eleva Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 15 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with a masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
